What this tool does

A holiday budget is mostly a daily budget: once the flights, visa and insurance are paid, what you spend is the hotel each night and food, sightseeing and getting around each day. This calculator is built that way for anyone from Pakistan planning a leisure trip, a week in Türkiye, ten days in Malaysia, a short break in Baku or Dubai. You enter the nightly and daily figures you expect, and it scales them to your nights away and your group.

How to use it

  1. Set the number of travellers and nights.
  2. Fixed costs: return flight, visa and travel insurance, each per person. The insurance line is the one you can price exactly on the cost calculator.
  3. Per night: the hotel rate for all your rooms together.
  4. Per day: food and drinks per person, sightseeing and entry tickets per person, local transport for the group.
  5. Extras: shopping and souvenirs, and anything else, once for the trip.
  6. Press Calculate budget for the total, per person and per day, with a 10% buffer.

How the result is worked out

Fixed lines are multiplied by travellers; the hotel by nights; food and sightseeing by travellers × days (days = nights + 1); transport by days; extras once. The total includes the buffer. The per-day figure is the total divided by days, which is the practical number to carry in local currency each day.

Example

Two friends from Karachi plan 5 nights in Istanbul. They enter the return fare and the e-visa fee per person, one insurance price each from the cost calculator, a twin-room rate per night, a daily food figure per person (a mix of lokanta meals and one good dinner), a daily sightseeing figure (Topkapı, Hagia Sophia, a Bosphorus cruise averaged over the days), an Istanbulkart top-up per day for both, and a once-only shopping sum for the Grand Bazaar. The result gives each friend their share and the amount to change into lira per day.

Frequently asked questions

How much should I allow for food per day?

It depends on the city and how you eat. Price three meals you would actually have (a hotel breakfast if included, a café lunch, a restaurant dinner) on a menu site or booking reviews for your destination, add drinks and snacks, and use that. The calculator keeps whatever you decide and multiplies it correctly.

Should I include the visa and insurance?

Yes, as fixed costs per person. They are the same whether you stay 5 nights or 10, and they are due before you fly. Most tourist visas Pakistani travellers apply for (Schengen, UK, Türkiye, Gulf) ask for proof of insurance.

Is the hotel per room or per person?

Per night for all the rooms you book. If two travellers share a twin, enter one room rate; if each has a room, enter the sum of both.

What about tourist passes?

Many cities sell passes bundling transport and attractions. Price one for your days and, if it is cheaper than your daily sightseeing plus transport, enter the pass as a once-only extra and set those daily lines to what remains.

Limitations and sources

The calculator multiplies your figures; it holds no price data for any destination. It does not include costs before departure in Pakistan (airport transfers at home, currency fees) unless you add them under “Other”. Inputs are saved in this browser only.
