Plan details are taken from each insurer’s published brochure and policy wording as loaded in the TravelConcern quote engine (the page reference is given in each condition). Prices shown after you add a trip are TravelConcern’s prices; the final premium is confirmed on the quote page. Always read the policy wording before you buy.

What this tool does

TravelConcern sells the travel insurance plans of two Pakistani insurers, United Insurance Company (UIC) and Crescent Star Insurance (CStar). This page puts every plan they publish side by side, taken from their rate sheets and policy wordings, so you can see the real differences before you choose: how much medical cover, how long the policy can run, how long one trip can be, who is too old for it, whether there is a family rate, and what is excluded. Add your trip and the price of each plan appears in the table.

How to use it

  1. Pick the destination zone: Schengen; Rest of World (Türkiye, the Gulf, the UK, Asia, Africa, most of the Americas); or Worldwide for any trip that includes the USA, Canada, Australia or New Zealand.
  2. Pick the plan type: single trip, annual multi-trip, or student (long continuous stays).
  3. Read the rows. “Show” under Exclusions & conditions opens the insurer’s own wording with its page reference; Full schedule of benefits lists every benefit line.
  4. To see prices, open Add your trip to see prices, enter the destination, dates and dates of birth, and press Show prices. Choosing a destination switches the zone for you; plans outside your zone show no price.

What the differences mean

  • Medical cover is the insurer’s maximum for emergency treatment abroad. Schengen visas need at least EUR 30,000; UK, US and Gulf visas set no fixed minimum but treatment there is expensive. Plans range from USD 10,000 (Standard, Economy) to USD 150,000 (Titanium, Sapphire Elite).
  • Policy validity is the range of trip lengths a single-trip plan is sold for. Crescent Star single-trip plans run 7 to 92 days; UIC Schengen and Rest of World plans run 7 to 365 days; UIC Worldwide plans add 180- and 272-day options.
  • Maximum continuous stay is the longest one trip can be. For single-trip plans it equals the longest bracket. For annual plans it is the per-trip limit: 60 or 90 days on Crescent Star annual plans, 92 days on UIC annual plans, with a 180-day option on UIC Gold Plus and Platinum (Worldwide).
  • Age limit: Crescent Star insures up to 85, UIC up to 90 (86–90 by manual quote). Both load the premium from age 66. Crescent Star also limits COVID-19 treatment cover to age 70 and sets a higher excess per claim for older travellers at UIC (USD 150 at 71–85, USD 300 at 86–90).
  • Family cover means a single family rate exists for the plan (two parents and up to four children under 18). Student plans are individual only.
  • Exclusions you will see on every plan: pre-existing medical conditions, travel to receive treatment, and (for UIC) travel to Afghanistan, Cuba and Israel. Crescent Star charges 4% extra for income-tax non-filers.

Example

Someone going to Spain for 20 days for a Schengen visa compares the four Schengen single-trip plans. All four carry USD 50,000 medical cover, so all satisfy the visa. The differences are in the extras (dental, baggage, accidental death limits), the age ceiling (85 vs 90) and the price for a 21-day bracket, which the table shows once the trip is entered. A traveller aged 87 can only use UIC, and only by manual quote, which the table and the cost calculator both say rather than hiding the plan.

Frequently asked questions

Which insurer is better, UIC or Crescent Star?

Neither across the board. Crescent Star is often cheaper on short Rest of World trips and sells annual plans with a 90-day per-trip option; UIC insures older travellers (to 90), offers longer single-trip policies (365 days) and higher cover tiers (USD 150,000). Compare the row that matters for your trip.

Is USD 50,000 enough for a Schengen visa?

Yes. The Visa Code minimum is EUR 30,000; USD 50,000 is comfortably above it at any recent exchange rate. The Schengen insurance checker covers the other conditions (whole stay, all member states, repatriation).

Why is a plan missing when I pick the Student type?

Student plans (UIC Sapphire family, Crescent Star Secure family) are not zone-specific and are sold for 180 to 730 days only. They appear under every zone with the Student filter, and they are priced for dated trips of any length if the dates fit.

Where do the benefit figures come from?

From each insurer’s published brochure and policy wording as loaded in the TravelConcern quote engine; each condition carries its page reference. TravelConcern does not add or change benefits.

Does the comparison show prices without my details?

No. Prices depend on the dates, destination and ages, so the price row stays empty until you add a trip. No contact details are needed for that.

Limitations and sources

The tables reflect the plans currently published and active in the TravelConcern rate tables; plans an insurer withdraws disappear from here when the tables are updated. Benefit wordings are summarised from the brochures; the policy wording you receive with the policy is the contract. Always read it before travelling.
